During your first session, you can expect your clinical psychologist to ask questions about yourself, your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. It's also a chance for you to ask questions and discuss what you hope to achieve. Next, you can expect some useful information about your mental health condition (what's known as psychoeducation), some homework to get started with treatment straight away, and the beginnings of a treatment plan.
